FASS 2017 CSW and Treasurer Applications Open!

As of this moment, CSW and Treasurer applications are officially open! If you would like to be the Chief Script Writer or the Treasurer for FASS 2017, you can now submit your application! Applications are due at 11:59 PM on Sunday, February 28th.

Don’t know what either of those people do? Here is a brief description of the two roles.

Chief Script Writer
The CSW is in charge of writing the hilarious script that the company performs each year. This entails a lot of organization, because FASS has a crack team of Pullitzer-prize winning writers at its disposal and they all have different styles and humour, and someone needs to put them all together.

The CSW is expected to hold meetings throughout the year, starting with the theme meeting before the Annual General Meeting (at the end of March or start of April), and going all the way until the script is done. The CSW has the final control over every aspect of the script—except the theme, which the whole company will vote on during the AGM.

This glamorous position entails being in charge of all of FASS’s money. The Treasurer duties (heheheh duties) include preparing a budget for Committee’s approval, writing cheques for expenses, ensuring that all the spending fits in the budget, and then preparing a financial report to be delivered at the AGM. The Treasurer is very, very important to FASS’s continued existence!

How to Apply
To apply, send an application to by 11:59 PM on Sunday, February 28th. Your application should include your qualifications, why you’re interested in the position, and what you plan to do if selected,… or just the fact that you wish to apply for the position. Your application will be circulated to the Committee for review, and then we will schedule you to come in for an interview. If you include your availability for evenings in the weeks of Feb 29 and March 7, that would greatly help us.

If you have any questions about these positions, you can contact our President Rami ( You can also talk to Rachel, the current CSW (, or Sean, the current Treasurer (

Talent is Optional, Audience is Needed!

FASS Theatre Company is bringing a fine company tradition to uWaterloo students next week with a Talent Optional Night next Wednesday night, October 29th, at 7PM in the Student Life Centre Great Hall, and you’re all invited!

Talent Optional Night is exactly what it sounds like: talent is optional! Anyone and everyone is invited to come up and perform whatever they want, even if you just learned today. Fancy yourself a singer or a poet? A rapper or a dancer? A comedian or an actor? Then we want you! Or you can partake in the most important role of all: that of an esteemed audience member!

If you’re interested in performing next week, please fill out this short form:

If you’re not interested in performing next week, please attend in the audience. While we do have a ‘captive’ audience with the Bomber line, we still need a real one! Come out and bring your friends. The more the merrier: we really need to impress everyone who shows up thinking they’re just going to a boring Bomber Wednesday.

Want to learn more? Check out the event!

We need you to help make this event successful! See you then!

September 16, 2014

Hey everyone!

I’m Sean Hunt, the President of FASS. What you’re looking at now was going to be our amazing new website, until that no-good cape-wearing President fell sick, and wasn’t able to get what he wanted done. And now all of FASS, nay, the entire world! is suffering for it.

If you’re new to FASS, and you want to get involved, check out the links at the top of the page. If you want to get news about the show, you can subscribe to our mailing list. In any case, please follow us on Twitter @UW_FASS and join our Facebook page.

Anyway, with some help from wonderful FASSies, we’ve put together a site that covers what we need it to for right now. Expect good things to come! In the meanwhile, if for some reason you need to get at the old site, it’s still there.

Thanks for the patience!
Sean Hunt, President
