Hello FASSies!
I’m happy to announce that you’ll be able to see FASS’s fall variety show on Friday, September 29 and Saturday, September 30 in either AL 113 or AL 116. Our Fall Chief Script Writer Sameeksha and the rest of the writing team are excited to show you their work.
Now, we’re forming our Fall Show Council: an intrepid team of creatives who will put our fantastic script onstage. Applications for the following roles are now open:
- Production Coordinator: Advertise the show inside and outside the UW community. Design and print programs.
- Director: The creative lead for the show. Decide how the actors move and speak and what props and sets should look like.
- Tech Director: Lead a team of techies in building props and sets and running lights and sound during the show.
- Stage Manager: Help the Director with rehearsals. During performances, make sure that everything happens on schedule.
Article Four of FASS’s Constitution contains full descriptions of these roles.
Please email me at htbroadley@gmail.com by July 26 at 11:59pm ET. Simply tell me which roles interest you!
If you like the sound of a role but you aren’t sure you want the whole responsibility, please still email me! We’d love to talk to you about becoming an Assistant Production Coordinator, Director, Tech Director, or Stage Manager.
We’re also accepting expressions of interest in the position of Chief Script Writer for our winter show, occurring at the end of January 2024. The CSW’s job is to select a theme for the show, organize and supervise writers’ meetings, and take responsibility for delivering a finished script by mid-December. You can see the full list of responsibilities in Article Four, section 8 of FASS’s Constitution.
Our winter show will be a full show. This means the CSW is responsible for a script of between six and eight theatrical scenes.
Again, please email me at htbroadley@gmail.com by July 26 at 11:59pm ET to express your interest in this role.
