Guest Acts

What is FASS?

FASS is an amateur theater company at the University of Waterloo. We have been putting on shows at UW for 55 years. FASS stands for Faculty, Alumni, Staff, and Students.

What is the variety show?

This year we are doing a special Fall Variety Show. We would like to invite members of the UWaterloo community to join us on stage and help showcase UW’s performing talent.

We are looking for 4-6 groups to join us each night, alongside our set of original short skits. We are open to different lengths of performances subject to available time. We are targeting an average of 10-15min per act.

Details? When, where, etc?

The shows will be in October in Arts Lecuture Hall Friday and Saturday nights. We expect each show to run approximately 2 hours. We are open to the same group performing both nights.

The show is free for the audience. FASS will be soliciting donations at the show to help cover our costs for advertising, programs, and other miscellaneous expenses.

What is the technical setup?

AL 116 is a typical UW lecture hall with tiered seating. We will be providing basic theater lighting, a sound system for playing music, and at least 3 wired microphones. We expect external groups to provide any additional technology, props, and other equipment that they require. Please contact producer@fass.uwaterloo.ca if you have questions.
